Pet Dental Care
Routine cleanings can not only help prevent periodontal disease and save money in the long run, but also allow for a complete oral examination that can detect hidden health problems.
Pet Dental Care
Maintaining your pet’s good oral health is an important aspect of any preventative health care plan. Bacteria from severe dental disease can lead to internal infections of the heart and other internal organs as well as weaken the immune system.
At Ohana Pet Hospital we highly recommend regular dental check-ups.
In fact, our Ventura veterinarians will examine your pet’s teeth and oral health as a part of a regular physical exam. During the exam, you will be provided with tips and techniques for caring for your pet’s oral health including, teeth brushing, use of dental treats, diets or chews, and various other oral health care products.
Brushing your pet’s teeth is the single most effective way to maintain dental health between professional dental cleanings. And, bad breath in dogs and cats isn’t something to be ignored.
Brushing alone however, does not completely take care of your pet’s oral health needs.
Schedule a complete dental prophylaxis, (aka, dental cleaning) and just like having our own teeth cleaned by a dentist, your pet’s teeth will be scaled, polished and each individual tooth inspected for disease. Ohana Pet Hospital can even take dental x-rays and if needed, our veterinarians are trained in tooth extraction and other oral treatments.
